GPM Global is thrilled to announce the launch of the P5 Standard for Sustainability in Business Practice, a revolutionary framework set to transform how businesses integrate sustainability into their operations. With bold new elements targeting critical ethical issues the latest take on the P5 Standard is poised to set new benchmarks in corporate responsibility and ethical business conduct.
What’s Inside: Highlights
- Five Lenses of Perspective: The P5 Standard examines sustainability through five comprehensive lenses, ensuring a holistic approach.
- Eleven Categories: The standard includes four categories under social, four under environmental, and three under prosperity, providing a balanced framework for assessing sustainability.
- 51 Sustainability Elements : With these elements, the P5 Impact Assessment and Sustainability Intervention Plan offer 255 ways to evaluate sustainability, making it a robust tool for businesses.
Free Resources: GPM Global is dedicated to making sustainability accessible. We offer the P5 Impact Assessment and Sustainability Intervention Plan as free resources alongside the standard.
Dr. Joel Carboni, GPM Founder, stated: "Over the last year, we have been hearing more and more that organizations have been using our P5 Standard for sustainability in project management in ways that had nothing to do with projects. As we talked to business leaders, it was surprising to us. They repeatedly would tell us that the alphabet soup that exists out there in the sustainability standard world is confusing and is heavy in compliance. What GPM provides is good practice and speaks our language. So, we thought it would make good sense to create a version of our standard for non-project-related aspects."
A Milestone in Sustainable Business Practice This release marks GPM’s second standard outside the project management domain, following the GPM Competence Standard for Leadership in Sustainability. Launched in 2023, this was the world’s first performance-based standard of its kind.
A Commitment to Accessibility We believe that sustainability is the greatest challenge of our time, and charging for this standard would impede our objective of putting it in as many hands as possible. Therefore, the P5 Standard for Sustainability in Business Practice is available for free to the public at www.greenprojectmanagement.org/p54bp.
Acknowledgments We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mike Deprisco, CEO of the Institute for Management Accountants, for writing the foreword to this essential document.
